Chicken and Enchilada Pairings

Many years ago my husband surprised me for my 40th birthday and took me to a cooking school in Tuscany for a week long hands on course in Italian cooking. Inspired by “The Tuscan Chef” Valter Roman, my husband and I now enjoy creating delicious meals fresh from our garden. My Food & Wine Pairings page shares meals we’ve created and paired with wines we have here in our home. I’d also like to introduce Chad & Leigh Anne, who have created the website “Winetonomy”. Besides being good friends, Chad and Leigh Ann have further amplified our passion for food …

Meditation & the Meditation Bench

When I first started meditating I was using guided meditation. This was a nice way to start but I was having a hard time sitting for 30 min to an hour. Not only was 30 minutes a long time but it was extremely uncomfortable. I did two things that helped, one, I got a Meditation Bench which angled my hips in a way that allowed me to sit cross legged for an extended period of time, and two, I simply sit in a quite room with the blinds drawn and meditate for 20 minutes. Before I got my meditation bench …

Pearls of Wisdom, Weekly Posts

Weekly “Pearls of Wisdom” will be a fun or insightful section posting the insight that only comes with age and doing. Just an FYI, insight also comes with failure, we often hear people say “hindsight is always 20/20” while the saying has some truth in it, I don’t believe for one minute hindsight is “always” 20/20. That being said the “Pearls of Wisdom” I will be posting in this section come from living and learning and sharing what I’ve learned from looking in the rear view mirror. One great example of this happened during the spring this year when we …

I had and with that we discovered how beautiful Sunflowers improve the whole look of the backyard. The kids next door were delighted when they saw them and are now are planting their own. The varieties of Sunflowers are endless . These are the types I …
